V/A - Run For Cover Records 2009 Summer Sampler CD

Wow, over a month since my last update. I've had a few people ask if this blog is still active. Why, yes it is! My summer months are mostly spent outside, so during those nice days updates are few and far between, Well, fall is here and that means colder weather. I love hoodie weather, but I'll be inside more. V/A - And They Came To Play CD

Whoever said Verizon Wireless internet was a good idea, is a liar. The worst part of that whole ordeal is that I live in the middle of bum fuck Egypt and it's about the only thing we can get. Blame that in your lack of updates. This took almost 4 hours to upload!

Enough of my incessant yammering. How about a long overdue blog entry? Sounds good to me!

Released in 2005 on EEYAHH! Records!!! I'm guessing this was a sampler as it was released in a cardboard slipcase with 2 songs each from 3 bands. Not sure how many were pressed. And I'll be honest, I hate the artwork. It's terrible. But I'm glad I picked this up (don't remember where). It's pop punk / emo that was popular a few years ago. Surprisingly not bad! I believe Dynamite 8 is still around. I couldn't find anything else on the other 2 bands.

TRACK LISTING:
Defining Moment
1. Hit The Lights
2. Sorry Garcia
Nothing Less
3. If I Wake Up Tomorrow
4. So Far Away
Dynamite 8
5. House Of Fear
6. One In Ten

Alligator Gun - OneHundredPercentFreak CD

ARTIST: Alligator Gun
TITLE: OneHundredPercentFreak
LABEL: Relativity
CATALOG #: 88561-1510-2
YEAR: 1995
GENRE: Power Pop / Pop Punk

Here is a band that I believe is over looked as far as early to mid 90's pop punk bands go. While Relativity has a lot of well known releases, this one must of tanked as far as sales go. And its unfortunate. Heavy power pop/ pop punk from Milwaukee, 1991-1997.

Rev. Norb (Boris The Sprinkler) did the artwork for this release.

This was also released on vinyl and cassette.

I bought this record at the Philly Record Exchange in Philly. I think I did. I paid $1.00 for it I know that. Its got some pop punk, punk and some ska. There were 2 pressings that totaled 1000 copies. All on black vinyl. I don't believe there is any difference in the pressings.

V/A - 2003 Teenbeat Sampler CD

Some of you might be wondering where in the hell I have gone. The answer is simple. Nowhere. I have tried uploading this album a couple of times and it seems to take forever. Almost 3 hours! Maybe my internet just sucks. Fuck it.

I got this release about a year ago when I purchased a large CD lot (about 150 CD's) off of the Knock Knock Records pop punk board. It was mostly pop punk and I was hesitant to give this a listen.

And for some reason, I found it really good. In an odd "I have to listen to this while driving RT 15 at night" sorta way. Its mostly indie / electronic stuff. Is there a term to describe this type of music? Probably. I just havent figured it out yet.

Released on Teenbeat Records in 2003. The catalog # is 341. It's a little different than most of my other entries, but I hope you give it a listen.
