7 Seconds - Live: One Plus One LP (Giant 1987)

Here is an album I never hear when 7 Seconds is brought up. I believe the reason is because its a little different then the 7 seconds we all know and love. This album has mostly tracks from the Praise era and its a lot slower than the rest of their catalog. Its still really good! But I do think the old songs they did live (99 red balloons, walk together rock together) pretty much suck. Very slow and reggae type. Yuck. The rest of the album isnt too bad though.

PRESSING INFO: Pressed on Giant records in 1987. Its been out of print for years but isnt all that hard to find. I got my copy for $12 at Toms music trade in red lion. 12 tracks. I think only 1 pressing on black vinyl was pressed.

Another Spazz release to add to the music blog. And Im sure there will be more in the future. This CD is probably one of their best releases as far as full lengths go. Fast power violence that sings about everything from the destruction of pop punk, to how to write your very own spazz song.

PRESSING INFO: Pressed on Slap a Ham Records. #54. There was an LP and a CD release. I uploaded the CD since I do not own the LP. The LP had a pressing of 3000 copies. 2700 of those were on black vinyl. 300 were on purple vinyl for mail order only. The CD has 3000 pressed. So its not all that hard to find. but it is long out of print.

I remember seeing these guys at The Go Point in Hanover PA back in the day. Unfortunately I do not have that flyer. Yuck . What I remember most is that they turned off ALL the lights and had 1 small lamp in the middle of them all. I don't remember how good they were live though. The CD has 6 tracks of old school type screamo. The songs are long (over 4 minutes) but they are really good. If you like saetia, you and I and bands like that but more crude and garagy, check these guys out.

PRESSING INFO: Self released in 2001 sometime. Probably over the summer. Recorder at Aberdien studios of March 2001. Probably around 100 or so were released.

Here is an out of print pop punk comp. Its kind of a shame since its a really good variety of pop punk. Its not the best out there, but its still a damn good album. 19 tracks of totally awesome pop punk. Most of these bands were pretty big in the pop punk scene back in the day. The true zero, and weston tracks are probably the best on here. If you can find it, pick it up. You should be able to get it at your local record store for only a few measily bucks.

Here is the second album by the band The A's. A posted their first album a few weeks ago for all of you power pop fans. I saw this in the Black Rose antique store and was hesitant about buying it. Mainly because I had purchased their EP "four dances" and it wasnt very good. So I figured their first album was probably the only good one. Well I somehow managed to scrape up the $3.95 this person was asking for it. I took it home and gave it a spin. Great power pop! It sounds a little different than the first album. This includes some horns on a few songs but should be a power pop classic. Give it a listen!

PRESSING INFO: Released on Arista Records in 1981. Released in the USA. There is also a few 45's that were released with songs from this album.
