V/A - Punk Rock Strike CD (Springman Records 2003)

OK here is a comp I think most of you will enjoy. Mostly pop punk! The label was started by a guy when he was 16 out of his parents garage. The label started to gain a lot of popularity. And for some reason it seems to have died off. When a lot of labels stopped releasing pop punk, about after 2001 or 2002, this label kept doing it. Now a lot of the bands on the label arent very good. Bring back the pop punk! They fucked up the track listing and inserted a piece of paper with the correct track listing. And I don't feel like typing all of the tracks since its pretty easy to read them, but I will type to corrected tracks.

PRESSING INFO: This is still in print. And you can probably get it off of interpunk. Released in 2003 on Springman records. Probably A LOT pressed.

TRACK LISTING: (the corrected tracks)
18. Faded Glory - We Won't be Denied
19. 30 Day Warranty - Song For You
20. Mud - Fallen
21. Shinobu - Shoot the Sky Down
22. The Epoxies - Need More Time
23. Glenn's Army - Fun to be Right

Heidnik - 3 Song Sampler CD (Too Damn Hype Records 2003)

Heidnik - 3 Song Sampler (Too Damn Hype Records 2003)

I saw this band at the sorely missed Why're in New Cumberland PA. It was a metal show and this band was the only good band on the show. I think I paid something around $2 or $3 for this. It only has 3 songs, but there is no shortage on blast beats and brutal metal. I did a front flip and landed on my back during their set. Which I used to do that all the time. I felt it in the morning.

PRESSING INFO: This was released on Too Damn Hype Records in 2003. They made a bunch of shows. And I think for mailorder. But as far as how many, Im guessing about 100-200.

TRACKING LISTING:
1. Seven Dead and I Laughed
2. To Whom it may concern
3. Paper Doll Shape.

Tubetop - Three Minute Hercules CD (Laundry Room Records 1997)

TubeTop - Three Minute Hercules (Laundry Room Records 1997)

Here is another album that does not really fit into the stuff I usually listen to. But this is addicting. Its pop rock but not the mainstream type. Its catchy, and its fun! I would describe it as 60's rock with 90's pop. Very good. The song Erika Smiles is probably the best song on here. Great for rainy nights on the highway...

PRESSING INFO: Released in 1997 on CD on Laundry Room Records. Catalog number is LRR 9606. I am sure there are other releases on this label, but I can't seem to find them. Of course, they might suck. Who knows. Probably about 1000 to 3000 or so pressed. Maybe more.

TRACK LISTING:
1. Full Bloom
2. Erika Smiles
3. Passes for Love
4. MIA
5. Bleeder
6. What You see
7. With You
8. If I Were You
9. Once Upona China
10. Oceans Cracked

True Zero Hook - Offenses Against Conscience CD (TZH 2000)

True Zero Hook - Offenses Against Conscience CD (Self Released 2000)

Back

I am not really a fan of this type of metal. But I know a lot of people are so that is why I chose to put this on my blog. That and the fact it seems to be impossible to find. Slow metalcore that was popular back between 2000 and 2005. This band is out of Philly PA.

PRESSING INFO: Self released in 2000. Probably less than 300 pressed.

TRACK LISTING:
1. I Am Nothing
2. On Your Own
3. Face
4. Discontent
5. Retribution
6. Your Honor
7. No Compromise
8. Loner

Red Rover - Singles EP CD (2003)

Red Rover - Singles EP CD (2003)

Straight out of the New Jersey pop punk scene. Although they arrived after the explosion of pop punk in NJ, they still remained a staple. This isnt the type of super fast sloppy pop punk we all know from NJ, but a type of emo, pop punk mix that is really good. I saw them way back when at the Monroe Township building in mechanicsburg. I believe it was 2003. They were super nice guys and I ended up buying this and a yellow T-shirt.

PRESSING INFO: There are 4 songs on this EP. Each song was released as a single as well. So if you wanna be technical, there are 5 parts to this EP. Released in 2003 by themselves of course. I think around only 400 were pressed. I do know "Breathe" was released on a comp called "last nights great escape".

TRACK LISTING:
1. Myth Rock
2. Scream Machine
3. J-Vix Mega Mix
4. Breathe

7 Seconds - Live: One Plus One LP (Giant 1987)

7 Seconds - Live: One Plus One LP (Giant 1987)

Here is an album I never hear when 7 Seconds is brought up. I believe the reason is because its a little different then the 7 seconds we all know and love. This album has mostly tracks from the Praise era and its a lot slower than the rest of their catalog. Its still really good! But I do think the old songs they did live (99 red balloons, walk together rock together) pretty much suck. Very slow and reggae type. Yuck. The rest of the album isnt too bad though.

PRESSING INFO: Pressed on Giant records in 1987. Its been out of print for years but isnt all that hard to find. I got my copy for $12 at Toms music trade in red lion. 12 tracks. I think only 1 pressing on black vinyl was pressed.

TRACK LISTING:
SIDE 1
1. You Live and Die for Freedom
2. Siren
3. Catching
4. Praise
5. Somebody Help Me Scream
6. Opinion of Feelings
SIDE 2
1. Trust
2. Calendar
3. Regress, No Way!
4. The Save Ourselves
5. Walk Together, Rock Together
6. 99 Red Ballons

Spazz - Crush Kill Destroy CD (Slap a Ham 54)

Spazz - Crush Kill Destroy CD

Another Spazz release to add to the music blog. And Im sure there will be more in the future. This CD is probably one of their best releases as far as full lengths go. Fast power violence that sings about everything from the destruction of pop punk, to how to write your very own spazz song.

PRESSING INFO: Pressed on Slap a Ham Records. #54. There was an LP and a CD release. I uploaded the CD since I do not own the LP. The LP had a pressing of 3000 copies. 2700 of those were on black vinyl. 300 were on purple vinyl for mail order only. The CD has 3000 pressed. So its not all that hard to find. but it is long out of print.
