So yeah, I will eventually start deleting everything and carry it over to the new one. So go here....
I bought this CD years ago at City Lights Records (RIP) in State College PA. That was such a good store. I miss that place!

Released in 2002 on Fork In Hand Records. 15 tracks of fast pop punk.

Also to give everybody a heads up, I will be starting another blog and leaving this one vacant. My next post will be a link to the new one, and it will stay that way.
Released in 1990 on Decoy Records out of the UK (DYS 10).

I first heard MC4 on the Mulletcore compilation on Drive Thru Records. Since then I've been grabbing everything I see. This release is 4 tracks of shoegaze / poppunk. Would you expect any less??

There are a few variations to this release. There is a 12" version from the UK, a 12" released in France, a 7" with plain white labels, a stock release in the UK, and a CD maxi single.

TRACK LISTING:
1. Finish
2. Severence
3. Thanx
4. Square Through A Circle
I first heard Boxer on the Five Years On The Streets compilation put out by Vagrant Records in 1998. I thought they were great, but at the time was more interested in the Down By Law and Face To Face tracks. It took a few years later (2010) when I was in a local bookstore that has a section for records and CD's. Among the usual jazz and big band stuff, was this CD. $2. Yeah, I was pretty excited to find it.

Released in 1998 on Vagrant Records (vr333). Great melodic punk/hardcore. I'm surprised more people don't own this release. In my opinion it is highly under rated. It's not blow away under rated, but great nonetheless. If I'm correct, this may be their only release. Although they were featured on a good many compilations.
Here we have a weird little record. Such an odd shape. If it's a shape at all. More of like a blob. As you can see, I picked this one up at Double Decker Records for $5 a few years ago. I am a huge fan of The Locust, at least up until Plague Soundscapes. I didnt like that album all that much. But anything before that, I have filed in my collection. I'm not really a fan of Arab on Radar. But their 2 tracks are included on the file.

The Locust blast out 5 tracks of techo/grind/experimental/powerviolence??? Yeah figure that one out. Arab on Radar have 2 tracks of experimental indie rock? You be the judge.

There were 5 different variations of this. Which all are now OOP.

Green vinyl (Ive seen dark green (mine) and light green), white, red, brown and yellow. I'm sure you can figure out what bodily fluids each one is supposed to represent.

If you like this release, you can usually pick them up for a few bucks. Most under $10. I have no clue how many of each were pressed.

TRACK LISTING:
The Locust:
1. Get off the Cross, the Wood is Needed
2. Wet Nurse Syndrome Hand Me Down Display Case
3. This Is Radio Surgery
4. Spitting in the Faces of Fools as a Source of Nutrition
5. Sever the Toes

Arab on Radar
1. Three Meals Away from a Crack Whore
2. Piggin in the Pumpkin Patch
First I would like to say, I am not dead....Yet. As you can tell, I haven't updated the blog in almost 4 months. There is a reason for that. I have been going through a lot of personal shit. And was a wreck for a long time there. I know nobody wants to hear my sob story. But all I will say is the girl I was with for 8 years, was cheating on me for like the last 5 of it. Crazy. However....
Here is a comp to tide you all over. I've got my head straight finally so I'll keep up to date on this. I bought this comp at The Fest 8 in Gainsville. It's a really good comp, but the track listing is fucked up somewhere. I've been too lazy to figure it out. But give it a listen!
Here is a great split I recently picked up on my trip to Tennessee. I actually forget what record store I pulled this from. But I do know it was only $2. I had heard of Knapsack before when I was growing up getting into emo and indie music on some comps. So it was a no brainier on buying this.

The only thing I really hate about this release is that the A-side is 45rpm, and the b-side is 33rpm. If it was an accident, than you're forgiven. But if it was deliberate, it was a stupid decision.

However, it makes up for it in music quality. The Knapsack side is a great indie/emo song. This was also my first introduction to Stuntman, and I'll be looking for more of their stuff in the future.

Release on Alias Records in 1996. As far as I know, only released on black vinyl with 1 pressing. It looks like it is still available to buy from the Alias label, so if you enjoy it, buy it please!!!!
Named after the series of cd-r and MP3 compilations I have made over the years of rare pop punk. Sound much better than "The Lost And Found Blog".
I'll be re-upping a few things this weekend for those who are looking for some oldies.Posi Jeff the Record Guyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13580093277061441759noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8136871815475349320.post-81526122164549558422013-04-05T16:29:00.002-07:002013-04-05T16:30:18.193-07:00Yeah Yeah NoOK, to be honest I pretty much lost all motivation to do this blog. This is why there is rarely any updates, and why some of the entries are half assed. When I first started this blog, I wanted to focus on rare stuff from my own personal collection. And yes I have done that. Whether it be great pop punk, power pop, grindcore, and even some 1960's garage. And while my music collection borders on obsessive, I don't think this blog will ever return to it's former glory (Remember the one a day updates!?)

I am not killing this blog. In fact, I plan on still updating it here and there. It's a little frustrating when an album has close to 300 downloads, and not one, NOT EVEN ONE comment on said entry. I didn't start this blog for recognition. But even if you think it sucks, tell me. It's nice to know I'm not doing the blog for nothing.

Don't give up on The Lost and Found Music Blog. I'll still be around. I'll still update this. Maybe stick to self released pop punk from the 1990's. Maybe not. Find me on Facebook.

Also I just downloaded this. It's awesome.
Everybody should know of these 2 songs. Straight from the 1960's garage scene, this release is the epitome of raw and wild 60's punk. The a-side is a fast jangler, and the B-side is a raw and fast fuzz punk monster.

Released in I believe late 1966 on the Staff label. There are only a handful of original copies known to exist. I ended up buying the reissue at the Allentown record fair last year for $10. Considering an original will cost me a few thousand bucks. But I'll admit, if I had a few thousand to spend, this would end up in my collection.

The Little Streets In This Town was rated #299 on the Teenbeat Mayhem top 1000 garage songs. While I Said Move ended up at #104.

The A-side was released on the Back From The Grave Volume 5 LP (both German and US versions), Back From The Grave Volume 3 CD (Both German and US versions).

The B-side was also comped on Back From The Grave Volume 4 (all LP versions), Back From The Grave Volume 2 CD (all versions), and the Greasy Rock 'N' Roll Volume 4 compilation
I'm sitting on my ass, listening to 22 Jacks. Everybody should check out that band. Like now!

OK, now let's get to the blog entry. Beatnik Termites pop punk band that were around since the early 1990's and released a ton of stuff. They added their own blend of bubblegum pop to their catalog which worked in most cases. However there has been a few releases that didn't make the cut to my collection.
Lineage was pretty much a Descendants tribute release. Released in 1996 on Coolidge Records and probably 2000 or so pressed. The first 1000 copies were issued with a pack of crayons (you know, so you can customize your own cover!).

There is only 2 songs, and I do believe they were only issued on this 7".
OK I usually don't post homemade comps or mixtapes of that sort on the blog. However, I made this and it was a lot of fun doing so. So I am breaking one of my rules to bring you some rare and OOP punk and pop punk.

I had this idea since I was in high school in the early 2000's. Ever since I picked up a copy of Killed By Death volume 1 at an antique store. I wanted to do a comp of rare and hard to find punk from the 1990's. I got the chance when over at the waxidermy forums I joined their annual mixswap project. I have an insane amount of self released and rare 90's pop punk that I decided that I was going to make the CD.

I wanted to do a little blurb about each band and what release the song came off of, and I still may do it. I'm not sure. All songs are between 1993 and 2003. There are songs on here that can be found with a little bit of searching, and some that I highly doubt a copy will ever surface for sale (Left Foot Forward, Espinine for example).

So please enjoy this comp of rare and OOP pop punk, ska and skate punk from 1993 to 2003. Let me know what you liked, what you didnt like and I'll keep that in mind for volume 2!!
Bete Noire were a skate style punk band from York PA. I saw them live a ton of times and it was always a fun show. Definite Suicidal Tendencies influences here!

I know this was released with artwork, and I had a copy of that. But when I moved I lost it in the shuffle. Along with a lot of other local demos. This was given to me by MC the lead vocalist right after they recorded the songs. There sis 7 songs, and sorry I don't have the titles of them.

I'm sure not many of these CDrs were released. Probably just given to friends and the like. Check it out if your a fan of 80's style skate punk.
Ghoti Hook were one of those christian pop punk bands that were all the rage in the mid 1990's. And not that I have anything wrong with that. Some amazing music came out of the underground Christian punk scene. I actually picked this up for 50 cents at a yard sale in York, PA a few years ago of all places.

This is a self release cassette from 1994 and only features 4 songs. 2 of the songs are good, and the other 2 not so good. However I included all of them for archiving purposes. I'm not sure how many were released, but I think it was also released on CD. Both sides of the cassette feature the same 4 songs.

Ooklah The Punk and Spice Drops were featured on their first full Length "Sumo Surprise".

TRACK LISTING:
1. Ooklah The Punk
2. Pride
3. Be Good
4. Spice Drops.
I have become a huge fan of these guys over the past year or so. Unfortunately I'm a little late on the bandwagon. If you have been following my blog you have seen me pick up a lot of their releases at record stores as of late. I am still looking for their full lengths, but they are pretty easy to find.

I know I purchased this at Double Decker Records. And I'm sure it was only a buck or two. Swallow is a great pop punk/power pop song.

This was released on BYO Records (BYO 041). All 3 of these songs were featured on the "Uncle Bob" full Length. Swallow was also featured on the Sample This! compilation on BYO Records.

1. Swallow
Breaking Pangaea was one of those bands from the early 2000's that every kid in the central PA punk scene was in love with. Probably because they were somewhat local (Downingtown). Or maybe because they were just that damn good.

"Cannon to a Whisper" was their debut full length album on Undecided Records (UR18). Released in 2001. Mixing a blend of emo and indie, this CD is just awesome. This album reached #23 on the college music charts as well. Most of the band members went on to bigger things. Such as Taking Back Sunday, Straylight Run, and Safari So Good.

They also released a few EP's as well which are good, but in my opinion not as great as this.

The song "Wedding Dress" was featured on the CMJ New Music February Volume 99 compilation CD.

Here is a short little compilation from the golden age of 1989. I picked this up at Celebrated Summer Records in Towson MD a few years ago for $15. I wasn't going to buy it, as I bought the first volume a few weeks earlier and thought it wasnt very good. This however is much better.

Released on Shredder Records in 1989. I also believe there was only 1 pressing of this on black vinyl. It also came with an insert.

Of course all the tracks are great. Do you expect any less? The Jawbreaker song is from an early demo. And Moral Crux is awesome.

TRACK LISTING:
1. Crimpshrine - Pretty Mess
2. Jawbreaker - Shield Your Eyes
3. Moral Crux - Pathos
4. A Priori - Schoolkids (Live)
Brom Bones is a punk / pop punk band out of Lancaster PA. They have been around since about 1989 and have released 2 self released cassettes, this album, an album called "Apart" and were featured on a bunch of compilations.

This album titled "Cope" was released in 1998 on Hoota-Man Records (HM432). I actually picked this up at an antique store 3 years ago for $1. It's short, but great on the punk pop.

I'm sure only around 1000 or so were pressed of this. "Jack Mackeral" was also featured on the Kaos Number Six compilation on Mother Box Records.
Thrash metal has been a genre, for me at least, that has been hit or miss. I do enjoy thrash metal. Some of it. There is a lot of releases from the 1980's that are just awesome. The unfortunate part of that, is that most of those releases are next to impossible to find. And when found, will cost a small fortune. I have also had experience with some from the 1990's that are great. Although it seems that a lot that I come across isn't very thrashy. Maybe 1 or 2 songs have some fast parts, but usually its your typical crap hair metal.

This is different. I love this release. I picked it up at a Goodwill for 49 cents about 7 years ago. I was hoping for something fast, but was expecting something shitty. This however is not shitty. Oh no. Its technical, its got some great fast circle pit style parts, and it doesnt let up from track 1 until the end. And it fits nicely in my small collection of metal releases.

As far as information on this release? You got me. Mostly everything is a mystery to me. I do know however it is from Mclean Virginia and was released in 1990. I have only found 1 reference to this online and its basically everything I just told you. A total mystery release!

I first got into this band when I purchased this 7" at Double Decker Records. At the time I was trying to complete the 625 Thrashcore discography (I have since given up on it. There were a few releases which I thought sucked). It was probably only a buck or 2.

What I love about this release, it sounds like it could be straight out of the 80's hardcore and thrash scene. It's cleaner than most, but that's what makes in great. I can hear some melody in there was well. And there is singing, not growling or screaming. They also have a few demo tapes, some EP's, some splits and 1 LP under their belt. Too bad they aren't around anymore.

I believe I have picked up every version of this release. If there is a version you know of that I am missing here, please get at me. I want it!

Got myself a new computer! So here is another blog entry, that nobody is gonna read. Except you.

I picked this up off a message board a few years ago for $3. Wasnt sure what to expect, as the only reason I picked it up was because I needed 5 CD's to buy to get a special discount. I gave it a listen when it arrived, and didnt like it at first. Mainly because the rest of the sellers collection was pop punk. So I gave it a second listen a few months later and was surprised on how good I actually thought it was the second time around.

It's not pop punk. Or hard to find. But its a great release nontheless. Fast chaotic punk rock. The best part about this is the fact that they stay away from the breakdowns and metal influences that seem to hinder a lot of fast punk bands in the 90s.

I'm not sure when this was released, and I'm pretty sure its a discography of sorts. I have seen a lot of these songs on comps and singles.

Also, I just stole a shitty scan of the front cover off the internet. My copy is at a friends house and I really don't feel like going to get it and scanning it. Sorry!
